Plumbing Helper

About the Role

Our client, a reputable and fast-growing company providing mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance services, is seeking a reliable and motivated Plumbing Helper to join their team. Reporting to the Plumbing Charge Hand, the successful candidate will support plumbers with the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, prepare tools and materials, and help maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What is expected of you?

• Assist plumbers with general plumbing works, preparation, installations and maintenance as directed
• Gather, carry and organise the tools, materials and supplies required for daily tasks
• Assist with lifting, moving and setting up plumbing equipment
• Unload and check deliveries, and store materials appropriately
• Help maintain and organise plumbing tools and equipment
• Keep work areas and storage facilities clean, tidy and safe
• Identify hazards, defects or equipment requiring adjustment or repair, and report these to your supervisor
• Follow relevant working procedures, site requirements and health and safety rules
• Immediately report problems or failures that could affect safety, operations or clients
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the team

What are you expected to bring?

• Previous experience in the mechanical field, with at least one year preferred
• A solid understanding of the construction industry
• A Secondary School Certificate would be considered an asset
• A willingness to undertake practical work, including lifting and moving equipment safely
• A strong work ethic and a responsible approach to assigned duties
• Clear communication, interpersonal and active listening skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Practical problem-solving skills, self-motivation and a proactive attitude
• Personal qualities including confidence, integrity and resilience
• A good command of spoken and written English
• A European passport or valid permission to work in Malta
• A clean police conduct certificate, which must be presented
