General Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking reliable and hands-on General Maintenance Technicians to join the Engineering and Maintenance team of a hotel in Malta. The hotel is recruiting professionals across several areas, including Room Maintenance, Plant Maintenance, and Plastering, Painting and Tiling. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians looking for stable employment within a busy hospitality environment.

What is expected of you?

• Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance throughout the hotel
• Inspect hotel rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance requirements
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and reported faults
• Diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently while minimising disruption to guests
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition
• Complete maintenance records and report any major faults requiring specialist support
• Follow all health and safety procedures and hotel operational standards
• Work closely with the wider Engineering, Housekeeping, and Operations teams
• Support other members of the Maintenance team when required
• Room Maintenance: complete general repairs within guest rooms, repair fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, furniture, lighting, and minor plumbing issues; support room inspections
• Plant Maintenance: monitor and maintain mechanical and plant equipment, including pumps, motors, water systems, and ventilation systems; identify faults and assist with preventive maintenance
• Plastering, Painting and Tiling: complete plastering, painting, touch-ups, and surface repairs; install and repair wall and floor tiles; prepare surfaces and ensure all finishing work is completed neatly

What are you expected to bring?

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a relevant technical trade
• Practical experience in one or more of the following areas: room maintenance, plant maintenance, plastering, painting, or tiling
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required
• A responsible attitude towards workplace safety
• Previous experience within a hotel environment would be considered an asset
